Zazen Meditation: Unlocking the Power of the Mind

Zazen Meditation: Unlocking the Power of the Mind

There are many types of meditation techniques, and it's natural to get confused when you search for one. Ultimately, we choose the technique that feels right for us. When I searched for a meditation technique to improve my psychic abilities, I discovered Zazen meditation, commonly known as Zen meditation.

Discovering My Guru

If you've read my previous posts, you know that Ramakrishna is my Guru. Have you seen his picture? Did you notice his posture? If not, take another look. Ramakrishna is meditating in the Zen technique.

I started practicing Zen meditation before realizing that Ramakrishna is my Guru. Through this meditation technique, my Guru tried to guide me, but I failed to recognize the signs. When I saw the posture, I stood still in awe.

The Essence of Zen Meditation

The goal of Zen meditation is to achieve a thoughtless state. The meaning of Zen is "insight into the nature of existence." While there are many articles on how to practice Zen meditation, let's delve into other facts and information about it.

The Fundamentals of Zazen

In Japanese, Za means sitting, and Zen means meditation. It is the core of Zen Buddhism. Lord Buddha practiced Zen meditation to attain enlightenment, and it was later introduced in Japanese schools.

Dhyana Mudra: The Gesture of Meditation

The mudra used in Zen meditation is Dhyana Mudra, which channels the flow of vital life force energy known as Prana. Prana is one of the five forms of Vayu in Ayurveda and is the driving force behind life.

Dhyana Mudra, also known as yoga mudra or samadhi mudra, deepens concentration and guides the practitioner to inner peace.

  • Right Hand: Represents enlightenment and a state of higher consciousness.
  • Left Hand: Represents Maya or illusion.
  • Triangular Shape: Symbolizes Buddha, Sangha (community), and Dharma (teachings).
  • Connection of Thumbs: Represents the union of male and female principles.

My Journey with Zen Meditation

Now you understand why I chose Zazen meditation. It's not necessary for everyone to practice Zen meditation, but whatever technique you choose, know about the posture, mudra, and its benefits before proceeding.
